It was a good day for...

water balloon fights! Jimmy spent a good hour and a half filling up two coolers full of water balloons. We were expecting my sister and her kids, so they decided a water balloon fight would be lots of fun. Sure enough, they had a ball. An hour and a half preparation for a five minute balloon fight! LOL!

Weekend cleaning

This was my first weekend cleaning cottages, and let me tell you that it kicked my behind! I was sooo sore by the end of the day. My hand was vibrating on the way home from all the vacuuming! I am definately out of shape. It's crazy that people would spend all this money to stay in a really nice cottage and then leave it in the shape it was in. Two of them were nasty! I won't go into detail, but it was bad. I can tell you that someone had way too much to drink, and it was possible that they didn't make it all the way to the bathroom. Bad!! I'm sure hoping for cleaner houses this weekend. It was like a Northampton county reunion at the rental agency we clean for. There were a lot of people there from here. People I hadn't seen in years. The company had a cookout afterwards for all of us, so that was nice that we didn't have to stop and buy dinner. I was starving...I ate some crackers for breakfast on the way there and didn't eat again until we got back to the office. I didn't have time to even think about eating. This could be a good weight loss program! :0)

Good news or bad news?

Leah's test results came back quicker than expected, and the nurse said that all her levels were within normal range. I think this is supposed to be good news, but for some reason Jimmy and I both were kind of hoping something would show up so we could "fix it". I guess that probably doesn't make sense and we should be grateful for the normal results. It's just that it stinks to see her when she is having problems. At times she is in a great deal of pain, and this usually happens about once a month. I wanted to hear that they found something simple that could be fixed. Instead, everything is "normal" and we will have to wait and see is she outgrows it. My poor Leah! Well, I did ask for prayers that everything would come back fine, didn't I? So thank you for praying, and now I'll continue to pray that she outgrows this.

Early morning crafts

I'm just catching up on everyone's blogs while the girls are doing crafts. They love getting the paint, glitter, and anything else they can find out. It keeps them busy for a while, and then keeps me very busy cleaning it up! I guess that's the price you pay for letting them discover their creativity. Plus, we end up with lots of cool refrigerator art!

This is what I have to look forward to...

My super tough 3yr. old

I'm so proud of my little Leah. She's had some problems for a while now, and we were referred to a specialist in Greenville. Her appointment was this morning. I like to tell my children in advance if they are going to have shots or blood drawn, might not work for everyone, but it works for me. So I told Leah last night that they might have to draw some blood. She didn't like that, but was ok about it and went on to sleep with no problem. And this morning she was great...until we were almost there. I looked back at her to tell her we would be there in a minute and her little lip went south. It was pitiful! We prayed together and then went into the office. We ended up having to go to some lab place to have her blood drawn. And when we got there they told me I had to have some drawn too!! What?! I know...that's what I thought! Anyway, they took her's first and she was such a big girl! Knowing that they were getting ready to stick her she still listened to the nurses every order and just shook her head in acknowledgement. They took five vials from her, and all she did was whimper! I'm glad they did her first, because I was the little whimp..I mean I didn't cry, but I sure wasn't liking it. Leah is my little hero! Anyway, if ya'll could say a prayer for Leah that everything comes back fine I would be grateful. We won't know anything for about two weeks. Thank you in advance!

Welcome...

Kelly!! Yay, a new blogger friend! Everyone can check her site out, I have a link to her blog. It's fun reading about everyone's day to day life, as boring or exciting as it may be. So I look forward to now keeping up with Kelly....and maybe one day Michele!! :0) LOL

It was...

a great and relaxing weekend! The weather was beautiful, nice steady breeze, and the water temperature was perfect. On Sat. morning the smoke from the forest fires covered the beach like fog, but by lunch it had cleared away. That night we added a bit more smoke to the air when we sat around our bonfire, relishing the last few hours of adult only time. Only 52 more weeks to go!!

Well...

we'll be heading out shortly! Yay! I'm looking forward to doing nothing, and I mean nothing. I'll be called Donielle only this weekend (or baby or honey if it's Jimmy calling me), I won't be doing dishes or giving baths or putting anyone in timeout. The only work I'll do is set my chair up in the sand. But before I leave I'm posting a picture of Michele's nephew's birthday cake I did yesterday. Happy 2nd Birthday Tucker!

I've got...

a cake in the oven, clothes in the wash, and suitcases ready to be packed. There is a lot to do today to get ready for our quick trip to the beach. But lucky for me, I have a time limit for everything, otherwise I might procrastinate a little too much. I'm a tad bit sad because I'm taking the girls to their grandparents this evening and they won't be returning until Monday morning. That's four nights!! Four! They have never been away that long. They go away quite a bit for two nights, but never four. I'm a little worried because even for two nights someone usually is calling us crying and wanting to come home. Rebecca made sure to tell me this morning to bring my cell phone and keep it on! Hmmm...is this a prelude to the weekend??

Things I miss

about being pregnant. Well, after hearing the news of Mandy being pregnant and then spending some time with one of my good friends this afternoon who is pregnant, I couldn't help but think of all the things I miss most about being pregnant. NOT that I want another one, let me get that straight, but I do miss a lot of things about being pregnant. I loved being pregnant! So here they go in no particular order:
  1. the excitement
  2. not having to suck my stomach in around people :0)
  3. the first noticable kick
  4. thinking of baby names
  5. the anticipation
  6. letting people feel the baby kick
  7. watching my belly do the wave as the baby would roll over
  8. using my stomach as a table to eat off of (sitting on the couch, my stomach was the perfect spot for my cereal bowl!)
  9. ultrasounds (I loved seeing by baby girls before they were born)
  10. taking afternoon naps without the guilt
  11. having Jimmy rub my belly
  12. Jimmy and/or the girls kissing my belly and talking to the baby
  13. buying new little itty bitty baby clothes
  14. looking at newborn size diapers and wondering how in the world a person could be that small
  15. finally seeing a person, my baby, one I helped create, who is indeed "that small"

What was your favorite part about being pregnant? Please share!

IT'S DONE!!!!!

Jimmy and his dad started working on the swingset before 8 yesterday morning and worked all day until it was done. And it was hot hot hot yesterday! They went through a ton of water and kept dipping their hats in the cooler and then putting it on their heads to say cool. But they did it and the kids (and I) love it! You can't see all of it...on the other side is the monkey bars with a glider swing and another slide. The girls call it their "clubhouse" and are already signing people up to be members. They must have an age cap because they didn't ask me to be a member. Oh well....

It's coming along...

the swingset that is! Jimmy has been putting together bits and pieces for the last few days. But today is the day his father was able to come over and help. So we're hoping it will all be finished by the end of today. Jimmy's goal this morning was to have it done by the time the girls get home from school. I'll have to see about that. He's a go getter, so if it's not, I'm sure it will be just about done. I can't wait! I think I'm as excited as the girls!

Our porch

Well, we've been living in this house for about 6 1/2 years and for everyone of those years our porch has been the place where we leave shoes (tons of shoes), toys, etc. We had a small table and two chairs out there where we would sit briefly. But over the last two weeks we finally made our porch an outside extension of our home (well, mainly Jimmy did!) Thanks sweetie! ;0) Jimmy and his dad rescreened the porch, then he painted it and put up a ceiling fan. We bought a rug, two storage benches for all of those shoes, and a new conversation set. I even bought some plants to hang. I hope they live longer than the last one I bought! This picture doesn't do it justice...you can't see everything. We LoVe it!! We now spend a lot of time out there. And it is so relaxing. Jimmy likes to go out there and play the guitar, and I like to go out there and just sit. The girls have done there homework out there some, and we've all played uno a few times out there. It really has become and outdoor living area. Our next project (or should I say Jimmy's next project) is putting together the girls new swingset. Might be a while before I have pictures of that. I hear from Shelley that it is crazy to put together. But here is a picture of the girls enjoying the slide in the back of the trailer. Who needs to put it together? Just let them continue playing like this, right?!
